IX Ranch Co.
Introducing the IX Ranch
Located in the picturesque mixed-grass prairie of north central Montana, the IX Ranch is a model multi-generational Montana ranch. Since 1955, the ranch has been committed to excellence in both environmental stewardship and livestock production, raising exceptional quality livestock. The diverse terrain, ranging from rolling hills to river breaks and mountains, adds to the ranch's unique appeal.
Guiding Principles
At the heart of the IX Ranch is absolute integrity. This guiding principle is reflected in their commitment to maintaining a culture of excellence, respecting one another, and exercising superior stewardship of natural resources. The ranch strives to be a leader in the ranching industry, aiming to make a positive impact on both their community and the environment.
Eagle Creek
The Eagle Creek division of the IX Ranch, located southeast of Big Sandy, features a more mountainous landscape with abundant aspen groves and evergreen trees. This area is home to various range grasses and offers a picturesque setting for ranching activities.
NL Ranch
Situated southeast of Big Sandy on the Cow Island Trail, the NL Ranch is an integral part of the IX Ranch operation. It hosts over 400 cow/calf pairs during the spring, summer, and fall seasons and provides pasture and feed for 1,000 mother cows in the winter.
Seifert
The Seifert ranch, located south of Big Sandy, plays a crucial role in the ranch's calving operations. Over 400 cows are calved here each spring. Additionally, the ranch serves as a winter feeding ground for 450 three-year-olds and 500 older cows. A center pivot also produces cereal grains and alfalfa as part of the ranch's crop rotation plan.
Whitcraft
Just southeast of Big Sandy lies the Whitcraft ranch, the central hub for all IX Ranch operations. Owned by Richard Roth, the Vice President of the IX Ranch, it is where most of the shipping, calving, weaning, testing, and hay production take place. Richard, along with his children Jessica and Ryan, resides at Whitcraft.
Commitment to Excellence
With three generations carrying on the family tradition of ranching, the IX Ranch remains committed to excellence. The ranch continuously embraces the ever-changing challenges and opportunities of the industry. Led by Richard W. Roth, the President/CEO, the IX Ranch prioritizes environmental sustainability, livestock welfare, and community engagement.
In summary, the IX Ranch stands as a testament to the harmonious coexistence of nature and ranching, setting the benchmark for multi-generational Montana ranches.
